Roche Pia has been recognized in such newspapers as the Connecticut Post for its handling of Internet Piracy matters. One article, titled "Microsoft Sues Computer Guy," appearing in the October 31, 2007 edition of the Connecticut Post, and written by Michael P. Mayko and Pam Dawkins, featured Brian C. Roche and Gerald C. Pia, Jr., of Roche Pia, LLC, as counsel for Microsoft in a piracy/counterfeiting case pending in the District of Connecticut. On May 21, 2010, Brian and Jerry gave a presentation on trade secret, computer crime, and non-compete issues. The presentation was made at the 4th Annual Investigating Computer Crimes in the 21st Century training day event, sponsored by the Connectcut Chapter of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association, and held at Quinnipiac University.
Jerry and Brian presented at the 2010 ATP Innovations in Testing Conference held in Orlando, Florida. One presentation was "Using Security Data to Inform Legal, Policy, and Psychometric Considerations for Testing Programs" and the other was "A 'How To' Guide for Running Your Own Anti-Piracy Program."
In 2009, Brian and Jerry co-presented on a "Getting Started" session at the ATP Test Security Summit put on by the Association of Test Publishers in Palm Springs, California. That presentation was designed to assist companies in creating and implementing an antipiracy program. Also in 2009, Brian and Jerry presented at the international Innovations in Testing Conference for the Association of Test Publishers (ATP), in Palm Springs, California. The presentation was "Prosecuting A Braindump Site: A Case Study," which focused on the Microsoft Corp. v. Test4Cert, Ltd, et al case that Roche Pia handled for Microsoft Corporation regarding a website known as Pass4sure.com (and related sites).
Along with Brian F. Hankard of Pinkerton CyberSurveillance Group, Brian and Jerry presented at the International Conference of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA) in 2008. The presentation was entitled: "Attacking Counterfeiters: Legal, Investigative and Electronic Brand Protection Techniques."

Roche Pia continues to support the Connecticut Chapter of the ALS Association, its fight against Lou Gehrig's Disease, and its Walk to D'Feet ALS. Jerry has also been on the Board of Directors of that organization since 2004.

In 2009, Roche Pia once again sponsored a Little League Team in the Milford International Little League. This year, the firm sponsored the Roche Pia RANGERS in the Majors Division.
